Geoff Dobson
Geoff brings more than 35 years’ experience including over a decade in executive search and leadership assessment. Geoff has placed Board Chairs and Non-Executive Directors, CEOs, CFOs, scientific and corporate C-suite and global leaders into life sciences companies covering pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, genomics, digital health and life science research organisations. He has worked with clients across North America, the UK and Europe and the Asia Pacific region. Geoff is Managing Partner of Newgrange Consultants, a leadership assessment and development business. His leadership assessment and consulting work covers assessments for C-suite leaders for appointments and for professional development, team assessments and board appraisals, and work with leadership teams to address leadership impact, organisation development and employee engagement.
Geoff also has over a decade of experience in-house in senior leadership roles in the life sciences sector. He has been Country General Manager based in Philadelphia, PA and Senior Vice-President, HR based in London for BTG plc. He has also worked in the Wellcome Trust during planning for the creations of The Francis Crick Institute, and earlier in his career he held HR roles with pharmaceutical, medical devices and biotechnology companies in the UK and USA.

Geoff is a Chartered Fellow of the cIPD. He has an Honours Degree from the University of Leeds, a Masters in Organisation Consulting from Ashridge College and further post-graduate qualifications in HR Management. He is a certified psychometric assessor and a qualified coach. Geoff’s PhD research focused on leadership assessment and development
Doctor Mary Hanley
Mary chairs the Newgrange Consultants advisory board and leads our research activities. Mary’s expertise includes occupational and health psychology. Her research has included a longitudinal investigation of patients following myocardial infarction, and understanding stress particularly in healthcare professions.
Mary advises on advances in the predictive validity of psychometric instruments, the ethics of using psychology and testing in leadership development, the impacts of stress in organisations and the creation of healthful work environments.
Mary has held senior roles in the University sector and has worked closely with healthcare provider organisations and their senior leaders. She has also been an external examiner for a number of Universities.

Doctor Mary Hanley

Mary was awarded her PhD from Queen’s University Belfast, where she also gained her MSc in Occupational Psychology and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology (First Class). Mary holds a post-graduate certificate in Evidence-based Healthcare from University of Oxford. She also has further post-graduate certifications in academic practice and research degree supervision. She is an Associate Fellow and Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society.
Amanda Borgerhoff
Amanda is an accomplished professional with over 20 years of experience in consulting, business development and executive search specialising in life sciences, medical, digital and technology businesses. Her areas of engagement also include genomics, veterinarian science, deep tech, clean tech, renewables and environmental technology businesses.
Renowned for delivering strategic talent solutions, she drives innovation and growth for organisations ranging from start-ups to medium and larger-cap firms.
With a robust UK network, deep sector expertise and wider international experience, Amanda provides tailored consultancy to scaling businesses, with a particular passion for supporting female-led ventures. As a certified B Corporation professional, she has led B Corp certification efforts, integrating sustainability and ethics into business models while retaining key global clients and enhancing the impact of life sciences.
Her collaborative leadership, emotional intelligence, and focus on value define her approach. Beyond her career, Amanda champions initiatives for positive change, viewing business as a force for good. Amanda consistently demonstrates energy and commitment to lead service delivery, meeting client needs while fostering innovation and enduring partnerships.
